Who writes Aircon Adviser

Our guides are written and checked by the Aircon Adviser team, a small group of writers and researchers who cover home air conditioning in the UK. We publish under a team name because most guides pass through more than one person before they reach you.

How we work

How we research and write our guides

We build every guide from primary sources: manufacturer specifications and installation manuals, UK energy prices, building and electrical standards, and the practical experience of installers we speak to.

We write for British homes and the British climate. A lot of air conditioning advice online is written for hotter countries or by companies with something to sell, and it does not translate well to a semi-detached house in Manchester. Where a figure matters, such as a running cost, a noise level or a typical price, we say where it comes from.

Independence

Independent, and honest about it

We are not owned by a manufacturer or an installer. When we link to a product we may earn a commission if you buy through that link, but this never changes what we recommend or the order we recommend it in. If a cheaper unit is the right answer, that is what we say.

Accuracy

We keep our guides current

Prices, products and regulations change, so we come back to our guides and revise them. When a guide has had a meaningful review, we show an "Updated" date at the top so you can see how recent the advice is.

If you think something is wrong or out of date, please tell us. We read every message and correct genuine mistakes quickly.

Let us know and we will take a look. We would rather fix it than leave it.
