AEG portable air conditioning
The German AEG badge on premium, Electrolux-built portables: the ChillFlex Pro was a capable, well-finished unit, but new stock has now run out.
Premium, Electrolux-built portables under a German badge
AEG is a German electrical brand that dates back to 1883, and today its household appliances, including air conditioning, are made and sold by the Swedish group Electrolux. Its ChillFlex Pro portable air conditioner is a monobloc unit that cools a single room and vents hot air through a window hose, positioned as a premium option rather than a budget one.
The ChillFlex Pro shares its engineering with Electrolux's own portables and was a genuinely capable, well-finished unit, with efficient R290 models that handle larger rooms than most portables manage. The catch now is availability: when we checked in October 2026 it was out of stock new at every UK retailer we tried, so it has effectively been discontinued here. Our ChillFlex Pro review stays up for owners and anyone weighing a second-hand unit, but if you are buying new, the MeacoCool Pro 9000 is the closest current match, and our guide to the best portable air conditioners covers the rest.
Strengths and watch-outs
Strengths
- ✓The ChillFlex Pro was a well-built, well-finished premium portable
- ✓Electrolux engineering behind an established German appliance brand
- ✓Efficient R290 models with the power for larger rooms
Watch-outs
- !The ChillFlex Pro is no longer readily available new in the UK
- !Priced at the top of the portable market
- !A portable monobloc, so less efficient than a fitted split
- !The AEG appliance brand is owned and built by Electrolux, not a separate maker
