Igenix portable air conditioning
A budget British home-appliance brand whose portables cover the basics cheaply, without the refinement of the specialist names.
Budget portables that cover the basics
Igenix is a British home-appliance brand, trading since 2002, that sells low-cost kit across cooling, heating, kitchen and laundry. Its portable air conditioners are budget monobloc units, usually sold as 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 machines that cool, ventilate and dehumidify, and vent hot air out through a window hose.
The draw is price and availability: Igenix portables are among the cheaper units on the shelves at the big UK retailers. They are basic by design, so expect more noise, lower efficiency and fewer refinements than the specialist brands, but for occasional spot cooling on a tight budget they do the core job. Check the warranty and read the room-size rating carefully before you buy.
